Retired as Head of Engineering from an Indian multinational manufacturing company specializing in switchgear, my team was responsible for transforming product designs into manufactured products. This included the development of appropriate manufacturing processes and tooling. I acted as a 'Technology watch-dog', identifying potential improvement projects focused on automation solutions to enhance productivity, quality, and reduce costs. I hold 4 patents in manufacturing process improvements, with 2 additional patents pending post-retirement. My experience in process optimization includes eliminating rework and rejection through techniques like DOE and PFMEA. I have also authored and published articles at both national and international levels.

Optimizing material utilization and implementing manufacturing process improvements are essential for reducing conversion costs. Utilizing Six Sigma, PFMEA (Process Failure Mode & Effects Analysis), and DOE (Design of Experiments) can aid in the elimination of rework and rejection rates, contributing to effective process optimization.
